Our Facilities

Poplar Ridge Equestrian is 140 acres nestled in a bowl on Walnut Creek Road. Ten miles off the highway. Its quiet and private but not out in the boonies. Within the forty acres, is more than twenty acres of fenced in land for the horses, that includes run ins and natural shelter from the sun and other elements.

All fencing is top of the line HorseGuard fence tape that is powered by solar. This kind of fencing stretches and gives if a horse ever becomes caught, rather than wrapping around the horse and tightening. Every t-post is covered by a sleeve guard, protecting the horses from each point on the post. Each sleeve has breakaway insulators, which act as another source of protection for the horse.

Our greatest pride is our wonderful 100 x 200 foot fenced in arena that is nestled along the creek. The entire land was transformed this year—moved and graded to create a laser level, packed base. The footing is a sand/screening mix, which allows it to retain moisture and not get too packed. Inside the arena is a full jump course that is used daily in lessons and training. We also have a round pen, next to the arena for those horses or riders that need a smaller space.

To give a change of scenery, riders take horses out into the ten acres of hills. This is good for strengthening and balance for both horse and rider, not to mention fun! There is not currently a barn for the horses, but rather a place for tack and equipment. We have added 6 outdoor stalls and small paddocks for horses on a rehab program or that may need a place for to recover from an illness/injury. A full 12 stall barn is in the works for 2018. We have access currently to fields and a pond with 100 acres of trails to be developed in the spring. We love to work hard, but we also play hard .
